The NanoFabrication facility welcomes members from the start-up and industrial communities. We have different models for engaging with members from non-academic institutions. In the event non-academic members only use our equipment and do not require staff support apart from the basic training necessary to safely operate the equipment, the members retain all of the intellectual property which results from their work in the facility. The facility also undertakes more involved partnerships, which leverage our staff’s expertise in process development and prototype design and testing. In those instances the facility enters into a partnership agreement with the non-academic members which is structured in accordance with the level of contribution of university staff.
